The “Things I’m Loving Right Now” post is a popular one in the blog world. I always enjoy reading what other workout gear, beauty products, and food finds people are digging at the moment. I have actually found some really great products through these posts, and I thought it might be fun to share some of the fitness finds that I am loving right now.
1) Lululemon Wunder Unders
Lululemon is the mother of all workout gear, especially when it comes to yoga. Every time I go into Lululemon I want to buy out the entire store, but then I remember that a pair of pants cost over $100 and I walk out empty handed to be kind to my wallet. This year I specifically told my boyfriend that I wanted a pair of cropped yoga pants from Lulu for Hannukah, and he delivered. I chose their classic Wunder Under pant, and let me tell you, the quality of Lululemon clothing is awesome.
The picture above is the exact pair I own. The pants physically feels different than all my other workout gear, and I love it. Now, I will never buy their clothes with my own money because it’s just too much, but it is totally worth asking for as a holiday or birthday gift!
2) Yogitoes
My pink Yogitoes towel was the second part of my Lululemon gift from my boyfriend for Hanukkah. This is a complete luxury for yogis, and not necessary to practice, but I had wanted one for quite some time now. Placing a towel over your yoga mat helps avoid slipping, particularly when you’re all sweaty in the middle of a hot yoga session. The sweatier you get, the better the towel works. They come in a ton of fun colors as well.
3) Flip Belt
I discovered the Flip Belt through Tina at Carrots ‘N Cake. I recently got an iPhone for the first time, and I knew I would feel awkward having an arm belt for a phone that big. Enter the Flip Belt. It fits perfectly over my workout leggings and my Nike shorts, and hides well under t-shirts so it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a bulky fanny pack. There are four slits in the belt where you can store any items you might want to have on a run (like keys, or an ID card.) The iPhone fits in perfectly, and there is zero bouncing with the Flip Belt either which is a must-have when wearing anything that holds my phone.
4) Old Navy Active Workout clothes
I stopped by Old Navy after seeing that their Active line was 40% off in early January. Now, I don’t like to shop at all, but when it comes to workout clothes and sneakers, I love it! I went a little overboard, and bought four new long sleeve tops, two pairs of compression capris, and two long pairs of yoga pants. I love the look of everything that I bought. The fabric doesn’t feel as luxurious as Lululemon, but it still feels good and the price can’t be beat. I highly recommend checking it out!
5) Foam Roller
After dying to have a foam roller at home for over a year now, I finally bit the bullet and bought one last week. Foam rolling is a form of self-myofascial release. It helps to work out soreness or knots that have built up in your body, particularly the legs and back. A day or two after a heavy leg workout, I always find myself on the foam roller. Just five to ten minutes of rolling out my hamstrings and quads, and my soreness will dissipate significantly. Here are some great links from which I learned how to foam roll:

Stay tuned for two new workouts tomorrow. Videos will be up as well!

The Lululemon Wunder Unders leggings are not being made with the thicker material as the older ones. I bought a new pair of Wunder Under leggings a week ago and was wearing them around the house when my 8 year old daughter said I can see your underwear. It was so true they are see through now and how embarrassing was that when I tried them on in the store and choose to wear them instead of changing back into my jeans. I would return them but I am afraid someone might remember me as that person that shops in $100.00 opaque tights.
Oh no! I’ll have to double check mine. I can’t remember them being see through at all in the past few times I’ve worn them, but now I’ll have to check again.
I have the same leggings in a older pair that are not see through at all, it’s just the new pair I bought. If yours are older they may be fine but I would double check. I have never been so embarrassed, Lululemon has definately changed the material that these leggings are made from.
Just registered! Recently started training for a 5K in Chicago and am experiencing the same treadmill-induced pain you mentioned above (pain-free outside though). Going to do some research to see if any local schools offer free use of their indoor track facilities (I know my high school and Smith did).
Fail, just realized I commented on the wrong post. (Was reading through a few of your older posts, another productive day at work…)
Haha, it’s okay! That’s great that you registered! I seriously think treadmills are the worst, but some people do well with them so it’s case-by-case basis. An indoor track facility is actually a really good idea too, I’ll have to look into that.
