For the longest time, my biggest fitness goal has been to do one dead hang pull up. Your palms face away from you in a pull up. Chin ups, on the other hand, are performed with your palms facing towards you. Usually, chins up are significantly easier than a pull up because your biceps give you a huge boost in this position.
Yesterday, I was waiting for my boyfriend to get home, and decided to play around with his pull up bar. Even though my elbow still has some mild pain, I wanted to try a pull up just for fun. No luck there. Then, I decided to try a chin up, which I have also never done before…and I did one!!! I made Brett take a video when he got home. I know you can’t see the starting position of my legs, but they were crossed and most definitely off the floor. I was able to do two in the video, only with some major assist from my legs in the second one.
I’m really proud of myself! This means I’m getting stronger, and am one step closer to completing my first pull up.

Rachel,
I watched your video of you doing two chin ups. Way to go!!! Keep working hard.
Love,
Dad
